Abstract

Oral teratoma is a rare congenital tumor that occurs almost exclusively in infants, and usually in newborns. The incidence of live births ranges from 1: 35.000 to 1: 200.000. There is a female dominance ratio of 6: 1. Teratomas are rare in the head and neck region and represent less than 5% of all cases.

In this article, a case referred to our clinic in the second trimester of pregnancy and ultrasonographically diagnosed as teratoma is presented.
